Mao Feng refers to "two leaves and a bud" style picking of tea. This very evocative green tea is grown in the Ya'an are in central Sichuan, China. Makes a sweet and aromatic brew, multiple infusions recommended.
From Pratt's Tea Dictionary: Huangshan Maofeng / Huang Shan Mao Feng Chinese. Literally, Yellow Mountain Hair Tip. One of Chinas 10 Most Famous Teas produced from the Huangshan Da Yeh (big leaf) cultivar and grown on the slopes of Huangshan. The rather pointed, perfectly-formed downy leaves exemplify the mao feng leaf style. It is perhaps the most forgiving of all greens, yielding delicate flavour infusion after infusion. In the old China tea trade, the English trade name for the better Anhui greens like Huangshan Maofeng was Moyune.
